Kilgore, Connell plan August wedding

Rick and Pat Kilgore of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Jordan Kilgore to Patrick Charles Connell, son of Cronan and Theresa Connell of Decatur.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Martha Shubert and the late Bud Shubert of Jasper and Beatrice Kilgore and the late Cecil Kilgore of Nauvoo.

She is a 2009 Hartselle High School graduate and a 2012 Auburn University graduate with a B.S. degree in elementary education. She expects to complete work for a M.S. degree in education at Auburn in December 2013. She will be teaching first grade at Arab Elementary School this fall.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Jerry and Peggy Connell and Bill and Claudette Shea, all of Monroe, Ga.

He is a 2010 Hartselle High School graduate and is scheduled to graduate from Auburn University in December 2013 with a B.S. degree in supply chain management.

The wedding will be Aug. 3, 2013, at First Bible Church in Decatur.
