Hartselle man charged with stealing motorcycles
A Hartselle man is in jail after Morgan County Sheriff’s investigators located two stolen motorcycles.
Daniel Lee West, 27, of Hartselle was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree and theft in the first degree. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $50,000.
A Falkville man reported the burglary of a storage shed behind his house on June 18. Two motorcycles, three bicycles, a riding lawn mower and other household appliances were taken from the residence.
Investigator Sgt. Chad Smith collected information on a suspect and the possible location of one of the motorcycles. Smith and chief investigator Sgt. Kyle Wilson recovered one of the motorcycles in northwest Decatur on Thursday and the other from a residence on Milner Street in Hartselle on Friday.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected, according to Sheriff Ana Franklin.
