Prayer requested for elderly in our area

I trust everyone had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. I think most of us were glad to see 2012 go. There were good times and bad times but that’s life. We are blessed to have loved ones near to us. We miss the ones who have gone and pray for the ones we have.

Journey Church had their annual Christmas program Friday, Saturday and Sunday night before Christmas. We had a packed house every night. What a great program it was. We had several people who were saved and several who rededicated their lives to Christ.

We are praying for Justin Hudson, who was in a terrible car accident on Wednesday morning. He is in Huntsville Hospital with severe injuries and as of Thursday morning, he has improved some. He is in God’s hands. Prayers and love to him and his family and for a speedy recovery.

The flu has been going around and my daughter, Rosemary, was home with it last week and two of our great-grandchildren, Stockton Allen and Scarlette Hudson had several people in the nursery sick as well.

Elnora Randall and Bertha Smith need prayer, they are 90 and 96 and this winter has been rough for them.

Abraham Hudgins celebrated his 96th birthday on Dec 27.

There are so many of our seniors in the neighborhood who need prayer. I visited Maudie Garnett last week and she is very bad. They have Hospice with her.

Pray for Dorothy Hoover, 90. She is spry but can’t see.

Lorene Roberts is in Country Cottage in Decatur after breaking her hip. Also, Lorene Dunlap had open heart surgery recently is doing okay, but is having fluid on her lungs.

Hubert and Ruby Oden, who are in Summerford Nursing Home are doing okay.

Christine Kinney is in Decatur Morgan Hospital with staph infection. All these people need our prayers.

Please pray for James Vest’s family, as he passed away recently.

Patsy Tidwell Hollis passed away last week, as well.

Bobby and Pat Beavers are staying in with colds. Pat enjoyed lunch Dec. 27 with her sisters and brother at Cracker Barrel for their Christmas get together. They are still working on Hubert and Ruby’s house to sell.

Jim and Louise Ampfill had all of their kids home Dec 29 to celebrate her 90th birthday. She sure doesn’t look 90.

Louise’s grandson, Bill Woodard Jr., has been sick with a cold.

I pray all my readers and friends have a happy and blessed new year.
