Bethel takes third in state

Bethel’s volleyball season ends with a third place finish at the ACEA State Tournament in Oxford. Bethel entered the state tournament as the No. 2 seed in the North Region. They faced Victory Christian of Millbrook and Brooklane Christian in the first and second rounds and defeated both in two straight games. This set up their match in the Final Four with the No. 1 overall seed ,Tuscaloosa Christian. Bethel fought tough against the tournament’s favorite, but lost in two games by the score of 25-19 and 26-24. With one loss, Bethel faced Cullman Christian to see who would face Tuscaloosa in the Championship game. Despite a great effort, Cullman defeated Bethel in two straight games 26-24 and 25-20. Bethel finished its season with a record of 16-4 and will be one of the favorites next year with all starters returning for a championship run.
