Guild donates stockings for soldier care packages

The Blue Star Mothers of Morgan County received a donation of 60 handmade, quilted stockings from the Hartselle Quilt Guild.

For the third year in a row, the members of the Quilt Guild have made and donated hand-made quilted stockings to the Blue Star Mothers. The stockings will be included in care packages, which will be shipped to deployed service members in time for Christmas.

The quilters made the presentation to the Blue Star Mothers at the October meeting, which was held on Tues., Oct. 2.

The Blue Star Mothers of Morgan County is a not-for-profit organization made up of mothers of military service personnel. Care packages are sent on a monthly basis to deployed military service personnel from Morgan County and the local North Alabama area. Donations of items to be shipped, and/or monetary donations for postage can be made directly to the Blue Star Mothers of Morgan County by mail at P.O.
