Students in Hartselle City Schools will be dismissed at noon on Oct. 12.

Mature Life, Parkway and Hartselle campus members, will participate in the Power of Pink Walk Oct. 13 at 9 a.m., starting at the Morgan County Courthouse.

Pinterest Party: Attention Pin–a-holics! On Oct. 13 at 10 a.m., we will be feeding the Pinterest addiction by creating a Pinterest project. We have selected a whimsical Halloween themed wreath. The fee is only $15 and includes all supplies. All you need to bring is your creativity. Please register and pay no later than Oct. 10.

The 5th Annual Bluegrass Festival will be held on Sat, Oct 13, beginning at 10 a.m. at Gurley’s Soggy Bottom Music Barn near Florette. Featured singers will be Poor House, Southern Heritage, Cross the Mountain, Solid Blue, Pam Thrower & Stone and Stanley Adair and the Sugar Rush Band. Admission will be $10. Food will be available. The Hartselle Board of Education will meet at F.E. Burleson Elementary School Mon., Oct. 15, at 6 p.m.

The Hartselle Utilities Board meets the first and third Mondays at 6 p.m.

Bosom Buddies Support Group offers support to individuals affected by Breast Cancer. The group will hold its next meeting on Mon., Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. in Cullman Regional Medical Center’s Ave Maria Room in the Community Education Center, located in Professional Office Building 2 (1912 AL Highway 157, POB 2, Cullman, AL 35058). Hartselle Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon at Sedona Steakhouse.

A four-man scramble golf tournament benefiting Ed Rose will be held Sat., Oct. 20, at 8 a.m. Cost is $75 per player and includes cart and lunch. Make a hole-in-one and participants can win a car, Iron Bowl tickets and more. Rose is the 36-year-old son of Eddie Rose, current Alfa agent. Ed was born with a hearing disability and, finally, doctors are able to perform a cochlear implant to give Ed the ability to hear. Insurance will not cover this $60,000 procedure. Ed’s doctor has contacted a foundation that is willing to pick up the majority of this bill as long as a charitable event takes place to make a donation for this.
