Lady Hawks clinch area, will host playoff tourney

Danville High School’s volleyball team (25-12) clinched first place in Class 3A, Area 15 and earned the right to host the area tournament on Oct. 16 by defeating Good Hope and Vinemont in a tri-match Wednesday.

The Lady Hawks defeated Good Hope 25-16, 25-22, 25-16 and won over Vinemont 25-11, 26-24, 25-23.

Statistical combined match leaders for Danville were Sydni Shelton with 26 kills and four blocks and Keilee Stiles with 12 kills, 19 digs and seven aces.

Charlee Anderson added 60 assists and four aces followed by Megan Luker with 20 kills, Andrea Carter with four blocks, Sloan Lindsey with 13 digs and Crystal Carter with 11 digs.
