Thomas Wayne Staggs Sr.

Funeral for Thomas Wayne Staggs Sr., 63, of Decatur was Sat., Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Holt officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Staggs died Tues., Sept. 25, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Colbert County to James Hunter Staggs and Mary Louise Waldrep Staggs. Mr. Staggs was a poet and an artist. He was a welder for the Tri Co Steel Company and was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Staggs, and a brother; Lloyd Staggs.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Wayne Staggs Jr. and wife Susie of Richmond, Va. and Randall Lee Staggs and wife Crystal of Falkville; a daughter, Pam Collum and husband Keith of Falkville; his father, James Hunter Staggs of Savannah, Tenn.; two brothers, Mike Staggs and Keith Staggs, both of Decatur; a sister, Kathrin Welch of Decatur; and three grandchildren, Nikki Collum, Tressie Staggs and Chloe Staggs.

Pallbearers were Jason Staggs, Walker Staggs, Heath Harrell and Jeffery Allen.
