Lady Tigers clinch top ranking in area

Hartselle High School’s volleyball team remained unbeaten in area competition with a 6-0 record after sweeping a tri-match with Curry and East Limestone on Sept. 25. The team’s overall record is 24-9.

The Lady Tigers wrapped up its slate of area contests by sweeping East Limestone, 25-19, 25-12, 25-16. They also defeated Curry 2-1 (20-25, 25-19, 15-11).

Taylor Dellinger paced the wins with a combined 21 kills, five aces, 19 digs, three blocks and an assist. Haley Jared added 19 kills, 16 digs, four blocks and three aces. Taylor Lybarger finished with 15 kills, 20 digs, two aces, a block and an assist.

Melissa Paul Hill collected 40 assists, eight digs, two aces and a block. Sarah Ellen Battles had 15 digs and an ace. Tori Denslow executed seven digs and three blocks. Tori Miller chipped in five digs and an ace. Katy Beth Bole had four blocks, a kill and a dig while Alley Orr scored an ace.
