Tigers get final tune-up for regular season
“This was the first time for many of our guys. So they were a little hyped up there at the beginning. We settled down and started playing better,” Godsey said.
“The one thing that really concerned me was the penalties, but other than that, I thought we improved tonight. We didn’t turn the football over and a lot of guys got some experience.”
Sidney Steele opened the scoring for Hartselle by taking Aldridge’s option pitch 46 yards for a touchdown, to make it 6-0 Hartselle early in the second quarter.
Late in the first half, the Tigers put together a 13-play drive to score again. That came after Jamal Jackson recovered a fumble to stop Huntsville.

Capping off the drive was Masio Stover scoring on a 1-yard option pitch. Hunter Hammack added the extra point to make it 13-0 at halftime.
Aldridge finished his night 7-for-10 for 75 yards while Steele had four caries for 74 yards and three receptions for 51 yards.
In the second half, backup quarterback Brett Blackwood led a couple of series resulting in touchdowns. D’Andre Mack scored on an 8-yard run while Tanner Oakes had an 11-yard score.
Mack and Oakes finished with 40 yards on eight carries and 51 yards on six rushes respectively.
Denny Urbina had the last touchdown from five yards out. Zeth Malcolm also had six carries for 53 yards.
