Una Gene Mayfield

Funeral for Una Gene Mayfield, 81, of Decatur will be Sat., Aug. 25, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., Aug. 25, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Mayfield died Fri., Aug. 17, 2012, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Mississippi to Bowen Lamar Mayfield and Una Mae Young Mayfield. She relocated to Decatur after she lost her home and everything she owned in Hurricane Katrina in 2005, She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild.

She is survived by a son, Larry Jean Lee of Sumrell, Miss.; four daughters, Mary Lou Framber of Gulfport, Miss., Elizabeth “Beth” Mills and husband Bill of Sumrell, Miss., Dianne McWhirter and husband Jim of Prattville and Minna Rogers and husband Ed of Falkville; two brothers, Bill Mayfield of Prentiss, Miss; and Bo Mayfied and wife Mendy of Falkville; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
