Ruth Clark Thompson

A graveside service for Ruth Clark Thompson, 92, of Arab will be Tues., Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at Falkville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tues., Aug.14, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thompson died Sat., Aug. 11, 2012. She was born June 25, 1920 in Falkville. She was a devoted and inspiring teacher and librarian at Edgewood Elementary School and Arab Primary School. She loved her family, friends, Braves baseball and University of Alabama football. Most recently, she was a beloved resident at St. Martin’s in the Pines Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Arthur Thompson; her parents, Stella and Virgil Clark; a brother, Frank Clark; and a sister, Nell Clark.

She is survived by two sons, David Thompson and Daniel Thompson and wife Elizabeth; two daughters, Dianne Thompson Baer and husband Jeffrey and  Deborah Thompson; four grandchildren, Jake Campbell, Bettina Baer Coleman and husband James, Clark Thompson and Lela Thompson; a great granddaughter, Emma Coleman; two brothers, William Theo Clark and wife Ann and  Lewis Clark and wife Glenda; and her special nieces and nephews and extended family.
