Priceville bank robbed
A black male wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap walked into Traditions Bank in Priceville Wednesday afternoon, demanded money from a teller and escaped on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
Priceville Assistant Police Chief Ron DeWeese said the suspect was approximately 5-foot, 9-inches and 140-160 pounds. He was dressed in a T-shirt and black pants and had a thin beard.
The robbery occurred at 3:38 p.m. while no customers were inside the bank. He handed the teller a note demanding money. She complied by placing bills in a bag and he left the building walking in an easterly direction.
DeWeese said Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene conducting a search for the suspect with the aid of K-9 dogs.
He said no bank in Priceville had been robbed in the 24 years he has served on the police force.
Anyone having seen someone matching the suspect’s description or having other information about the robbery is asked to contact the Priceville Police Department by calling 911.
