OWO offers enrichment for children in Hartselle

The OWO began its programming in June 2005 and has been going strong since.

The OWO is named after Mr. Walter Osborne, Mr. Earl Warren, and Mr. Charles Oden, Sr. All three men were very dedicated to the enrichment of the youth in the Hartselle and Morgan County areas.

You will find Mr. Osborne and Mr. Warren on the “Wall of Fame” in the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame, and even though Mr. Oden did not serve in a coaching position his heart was always dedicated to making every effort possible to give the youth in our area special attention.

The OWO offers after school care for children from ages 5 through 13. Our Mission Statement is to provide affordable high quality services for the children of Hartselle and Morgan County in order to improve the quality of living, promote self growth, and be a positive influence for today’s youth.

All of our staff members go through a complete background check and range in educational backgrounds from Masters in Education, Bachelors in Education, Bachelors of Science in Nursing (RN),

Bachelors in Psychology, students currently enrolled in area colleges and retired professionals.

So needless to say our staff is well rounded and dedicated to providing each child an outstanding experience.

The OWO consist of two areas, one being the resource center.

This is where the children check in each afternoon, complete their homework, enjoy a snack and are offered assistance with their studies if needed.

We also have a reading room/movie room for their enjoyment.

The second area is an 11,000 square foot gymnasium equipment with a regulation basketball ball court/volleyball court, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and a fully equipped weight room. We offer all types of recreational games, exercises and sporting events.

We would honor the opportunity to show you and your children what great programs we have to offer.

The Osborne, Warren, Oden Recreation Center is located at 906 Roberts Drive in Hartselle.
