Northbound I-65 bridge lanes reopened

The Alabama Department of Transportation has reopened both northbound lanes on the I-65 bridge over the Tennessee River.

This $6.8 million bridge deck maintenance project on the Interstate 65 Tennessee River Bridges is expected to be completed in the near future, weather permitting.

Southbound traffic remains shifted to the outside lane while work is being completed on the inside lane.

Expected traffic impact continues to be a single lane closure on the southbound bridge seven days a week. Southbound motorists regularly using the bridge are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid lengthy delays.

Alabama State Troopers are strictly enforcing the 50 mph speed limit in the work zone.
