Rim Rockers take 2nd at nationals

The Rim Rockers, a sixth grade travel basketball ball team made of players from Morgan County, finished runner-up in the YBOA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Fla.

The team was not only recognized for its on the court performance, but also for its performance in the classroom. There were five student-athlete awards given and three of them were to girls on this team.

Not pictured are Coach Terrie Nelson and assistant coaches Bryon Veal and Larry Slater. The team was runner-up in the YBOA National Tournament at Kissimmee, Fla.

Those award recipients are Lindsay Goodwin from West Morgan, Bailey Parrish from West Morgan and Ashlee Quinn from Priceville. Other awards received were Quinn for Most Hustle Award, Hartselle’s Moriah Taylor for All-Tournament Team and Union Hill’s Shyan Flack for All Tournament Team.

Flack also won the Hot Shot competition scoring 35 points. She was the overall winner for the sixth grade girls division.
