Nail finishes in 5th place

Hartselle’s Heather Nail had her best round of the Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship in Huntsville to finish in a tie for fifth place.

Nail posted a 1-over-par 72 for a 54-hole total of 226, which is 13-over-par. She rallied from an opening-day 10-over-par 81 to shoot her final two rounds in the low 70s. She was tied with Kayla Jones of Milton, Ga.

Lindsey Weaver finished her last AJGA tournament with a 3-stroke lead at 6-under-par 207. Janie Jackson of Huntsville, Ala., carded a 2-under-par 210 finishing second overall after tying with Weaver during the first and second rounds. Haley Austin of McDonough, Ga., finished third at 8-over-par 220.

Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship is a 54-hole stroke play competition played on the par-71, The Ledges. The event features 72 boys and 24 girls, ages 12-18, from 9 states and 2 countries. The Boys Division played the course at 7,019 yards while the Girls Division played the course at 5,981 yards.
