Miss Childers died on Tues., July 17, 2012, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 17, 1918, in Morgan County to Monk Oliver Childers and Vera Bernice (Drinkard) Childers. She loved gardening and reading her Bible and was a member of Eva Baptist Church. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Susie” to her 34 nieces and nephews, who always enjoyed visiting with her when they were young. Through the years, Aunt Susie always told the stories of the family history which we refer to as the “Good Ol’ Days.” She was a mother, aunt, grandmother, and our special friend, to all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Laco, Birlen, and

The family extends a special thanks to Summerford Nursing Home for their loving care.

Childers, Oden Ridge; three sisters, Elizabeth Holmes, Angie Veal and Bernice Chesser, all of Cullman; sister-in-law, Gail Childers of Eva; 34 nieces and nephews; 80 great nieces and nephews; 74 great-great nieces and nephews; and three great-great-great nieces and nephews.
