The Distinguished Young Women of Morgan County, Class of 2013, will meet at Austin High School on Aug. 4.

Distinguished Young Women of Morgan County is an official local preliminary of Distinguished Young Women, a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership and talent in young women. In addition to earning scholarships for college, those who participate in the Distinguished Young Women program develop friendships, self-confidence and other life skills that pave the way for future success.

The Distinguished Young Women experience is open to every eligible young woman residing in Morgan County and there is no cost to participate.

Founded in 1958 in Mobile, Ala., Distinguished Young Women is the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls. During its 55 years of operation, the program has provided life-changing experiences for more than 700,000 young women.

Last year, Distinguished Young Women provided more than $108 million in cash and college scholarship opportunities to program participants at the local, state and national level. Previously known as America’s Junior Miss, the program announced its new name in June 2010. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to shine.
