Church plans dedication

Nature’s Trail Church will dedicate a new building at 1408 Shoal Creek Road in Priceville. | Clif Knight

Birds of a feather truly do flock together and the herding instinct is alive and well at Nature’s Trail Church in Priceville.

Its like-minded members share a love for God and a love for nature.

On Sunday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m., they will dedicate a new building at 1408 Shoal Creek Road. Pastor Johnny Maxwell will preach a sermon, members and guests will gather at noon for a barbecue lunch and a blue- grass gospel singing will climax the day’s activities at 2 p.m.

In May of 2008 a group of nature-loving Christian families planted the church, meeting in a rented commercial building. Through growth and conservation of resources they were able to start a building program in 2011, and moved into their new facility in January 2012.

The building’s exterior has the look of a log cabin and its interior is finished in wooden beams, rocks and other rustic-looking materials. On the walls are displayed the stuffed heads and antlers of deer and other big game trophies of its members.
