Mildred Self Johnson

Funeral for Mildred Self Johnson, 87, of Somerville will be Sat., July 14, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Lewis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., July 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Johnson died on Wed., July 11, 2012, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born July 9, 1925, in Blount County to James Arthur Self and Josie Mae McKay Self. She was peceded in death by her parents; a sister, Olene Wilbanks; and three brothers, Austin, Floyd and Huett Self.

She is survived by five daughters, Pat Lott of Hartselle, Peggy Shadden of Somerville, Pamela Jarvis of Moundville, Philicia Ingham of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Paula Barnes of Falkville; three sisters, Evelene Orr of Decatur, Esther Bloom of Georgia and Dot Maples of Valhermoso Springs; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Stewart, Zachary Stewart, Travis Stewart, Sean Jarvis, Billy T. Shadden and Tony Pettigrew.
