Taylors welcome another great-granddaughter

Congratulations go out this week to Junior and Helen Taylor on the birth of their newest great-granddaughter, Emmalyn Paige Wallace. She was born March 25 weighing nine pounds and one ounce and measuring 22 inches long. Her proud parents are Jamie and Ashley Wallace and she is the granddaughter of Archie and Cindy Sheats.

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are now collecting items for Operation Christmas Child. Needed are items such as socks, soap (no liquid), washcloths, smarties, suckers and gum. Items will be packed in shoeboxes and distributed to needy children throughout the world at Christmastime.

The church has set a goal to fill 700 shoeboxes.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Phillip Lewis on April 5, Jim Tomlin on April 7, Derrell Shelton on April 8, Melee Laney on April 10, Jada Callahan and Chase McCaghren, both on April 13, Jake Thomas on April 14, Marsha Summerford and Sarah Logan, both on April 15. and Andryn Penn and Dana Garrison, both on April 16.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Leldreine Lacey on April 17, Peyton Evans on April 18, Jim McAbee on April 19. Dale Boyd and Stoshia Logan, both on April 20 and Callie Parker and Emma Parker, both on April 21.

Belated happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week to Robert and Cindy Nesmith on April 4; Hank and Marsha Summerford (25th) on April 9 and Russell ad Jane Reeder on April 9.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Buddy and Ruby Lacy who will observe their 41st anniversary on April 17 and Johnny and Belinda Vest who will enjoy celebrating their 14th anniversary on April 20.

Massey Volunteer Fire Department will conduct an SCBA class on Fri., April 27, at 6:30 p.m. Training officer Justin Tanner said the class is designed to improve the skills of fire fighters and make the community safer. He said time will be split between classroom study and drills and prepare the students for 160 training.
