Garden club to present ‘Gabbing About Gardening’

If you’ve been bitten by the urge to get outside and try your hand at gardening this spring you’re in for a treat.

Hartselle’s Rainbow Garden Club is sponsoring a fundraiser called “Gabbing About Gardening.” It will be conducted at Hartselle Fine Arts Center Sat., Mar. 10, from 9 a.m. until noon.

Club members promise whether you are a novice or an avid gardener, you will be inspired by the creative energy and talents of the guest speakers they have lined up.

Kay Tidwell will share her secrets of a 12-year success story creating one-of-a-kind container gardens at The Greenery. She has a flair for color and a broad knowledge of plants, a combination she used to create winners in both sun and shade.

Ken Creel, a regional agent for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and Sue Bish, a Master Gardener who serves on the board of directors of the Master Gardeners of North Alabama, will team up to offer advice and answer questions about gardening. At the same time they will be doing a live broadcast for Creel’s weekly radio show “The Outdoor Living and Garden Show.”

Floral Designer Caryl Littrell will demonstrate how to combine structure, gathered objects, flowers and imagination to create works of art in any season.”

Tickets are $15 each and seating is limited. Proceeds from the project will benefit E.A.R.T.H. Park.

Mail requests for ticket orders to: Rainbow Garden Club, P.O. Box 1404, Hartselle, AL 35640. Include name, check for $15 per ticket and an email address for payment confirmation. Tickets purchased in advance will be held at the registration table at the Fine Arts Center.
