Sports Briefs for Oct. 20

Youth Basketball registration ends Tuesday

Hartselle Boys and Girls Youth Basketball will have its final registration on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Players must be 6 years old by Sept. 1. The fee for basketball is $60. Cheerleading is $40.

Softball league to discuss changes at meeting

Hartselle Youth Softball League will hold a community meeting on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sparkman Civic Center to discuss proposed league changes for the 2012 season, according to Kevin Holder, president.

“League officials want to hear from the public before decisions affecting the future of the league are made,” Holder stated.

Holder urged coaches, parents of players and other interested citizens to attend.

Upward league registration continues

Hartselle First Baptist Church is having Upward Basketball early registration through Nov. 1 at the church. Cost is $70 for basketball or cheerleading through Nov. 1. Late registration is $75 after Nov. 1. Registration forms can be picked up at the church. For more information, call 256-773-5500.
