The youth at Somerville Assembly will conduct a yard and bake sale on Saturday at the church, which is located on Highway 67 in Somerville on Blevins Road. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support these youngsters. Available will be homemade cakes, cookies, brownies and other goodies. The event begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until noon. Hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available for sale. A gospel singing will be held at 6 p.m. featuring New Life. Everyone is invited.

Football season is here already. Brewer High School will host Danville Friday night in a jamboree game. The Patriots’ head coach is Daniel Gullion. Assistant coaches are Stephen Robinson, Cameron Mahan, Chris Creel, Tony Drinkard, Gary Linderman Brandon Tew and Tyler Reeves.

Vickey Daugette attended a singing at Liberty Baptist Church at Lacey’s Spring on Saturday night.

I hope everyone is having a great first week back at school.

Paul and Glenda Dunaway took Robert Johnson out to Ryan’s for breakfast on Saturday in honor of his birthday.

Jayla Daugette enjoyed spending Saturday night with her uncle and aunt, Jacob and Ashley Daugette. They had pizza and watched movies.

The concerts at the Somerville Courthouse Square are over for this season. We hope you had a chance to enjoy them.

Several people from our area attended a block party at Danville Baptist Church recently. If you have never gone, you should try to attend next year. Lots of good food, fun and fellowship were enjoyed by everyone who attended.

Pastor Jacob Daugette and members of Somerville Assembly invite you to join them in worship if you are not presently attending a local church. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. and morning worship is at 11 a.m. Evening worship is at 6 p.m.

A big hello goes out to Dorris Powers, Joey Staton, Bro. Ronnie Bullard and Dennis Free.
