Gillott, Weldon wed May 14

Meagan Renee Gillott of Hartselle and Barry Dewayne Weldon of Trenton, Ga. were married May 14 at 5 p.m. at Quail Creek Resort in Hartselle with Mike Holland officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dickie Gillott and Jennifer Gillott, both of Hartselle. Her grandparents are Donald and Alvilene Legg of Hartselle and Clyde and Levonia Gillott of Danville.

The groom is the son of Jimmy Weldon of Ider and Gayla Gass of Trenton, Ga. His grandparents are Doyle and the late Lela Weldon and the late Ralph “Bud” York and Lora Lee York.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Billi Byrd of Hartselle was matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Erin Gillott of Hartselle, Andrea Tucker of Falkville, LeeAnn Jones and Robin Lindsey, both of Danville, and Leslie Blaxton of Decatur.

Flower girl was Allie Tucker and John Cade Gillott was ring bearer.

The best man was Jeremy Weldon of Trenton, Ga. Groomsmen were Jason Ellis of Ider, Charlie Gass of Trenton, Ga. and Dustin Crow, Kale Rouse and Adam Lindsey, all of Danville.

Noah Battles, Jared Appleton, Seth Battles, all of Hartselle and Chase Gillott and Hayden Little, both of Danville, served as ushers.

Music was provided by Keith Letson and Haylee Little.

Renee Fields directed the wedding.

A reception was held at Quail Creek Resort immediately following the wedding ceremony.

Assisting with the reception were Donna Legg-Battles, Nerissa Appleton, Connie Gillott and Holly Little.

Bride book attendants were Sara Ellen Battles and Alyssa Appleton.

Following a honeymoon trip to Memphis, Tenn., the couple is residing in Falkville.

Prenuptial parties:

• A bridal tea was held April 10, 2011, at Neel United Methodist Church with Donna Legg-Battles, Nerissa Appleton, Connie Gillott and Holly Little serving as co-hostesses.

• A bridal shower was also given in Trenton, Ga. at Shantytown Baptist Church by Gayle Gass and Sandy Weldon.
