Canafax, Childs to marry in October
Jeff and Betty Canafax of Hartselle are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathy Ann Canafax of Hartselle, to Andrew David Childs of Madbury, N.H., son of Mike and Kathy Childs of Madbury, N.H.
Future Childs
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jean McKenzie and the late William McKenzie of Louisville, Ky. and Ray and Ann Canafax of Raleigh, N.C.
She is a 2005 graduate of Hartselle High School and is currently attending Salem College where she is majoring in arts management and art history.
She is currently serving a second year as member of AmeriCorps*VISTA with Arts in Reach (AIR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering teenage girls through mentoring and the arts.
She is also involved with the LifeTeen Catholic youth ministry at Parish of the Assumption in Dover, N.H.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Donna Childs of Dover, N.H. and Joseph and Barbara Moriarty of Madbury, N.H.
He is a graduate of Oyster High School in Durham. N.H. and is currently deployed in his fourth tour of duty as a sergeant with the Army National Guard.
The wedding date is Oct. 28, 2011, in Dover, N.H.
