Best wishes go out for safe, fun-filled holiday

It’s hard to believe that June is almost behind us. With all of the storms the last couple of months it has been a busy time for many. Even now many folks still have to deal with seeing everything they own lying in a huge pile of debris where homes used to be located. Continue to pray for the storm victims.

I would like to send happy birthday wishes all the way to Lee’s Summit, Mo. To my nephew, Johndale Motes, who will celebrate his 13th birthday on June 26. I hope you had a great day. I love you, Aunt Von.

Happy birthday to Austin Hensley on June 28 from MaMa, MeMe, his brother and sister, Nathan and Zoey Hensley and MaMa Alice.

Happy birthday wishes to Abbie Clemons and Charlotte Burgess, both on June 30, Tommy Blankenship on July 1, Greg Terry and Linda Bomar, both on July 2, Melissa Legg on July 3, Phyllis Cox, Martha Reeves ad Glenda Rea, all on July 4, Josh Lamberti on July 5 and Laura Patterson and Faith Miller, both on July 6.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes to Pat and Kristy Halbrooks on July 2, Doug and Leona Fortenberry on July 3, Darryl and Tammie Gulley on July 3 and Brandon and Stacey Miller on July 4.

Please pray for those who are dealing with flooding in North Dakota. This is a difficult time with all of the problems that are involved.

On Monday, July 4, we will observe Independence Day. Families often celebrate this day with barbecues, picnics, concerts, ball games, family reunions and ending with fireworks. Independence Day is a national holiday commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, Pa. As America celebrates its 235th birthday, may we be mindful of those who risk their lives each day in order that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have. Happy birthday America!
