No. 1 Hartselle begins quest of title

The Hartselle Lady Tigers will begin its quest for a fourth softball state championship today as it plays in the Class 5A State Tournament at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.

Hartselle faces Eufaula in the opening round scheduled to begin at noon today. Eufaula was the team that knocked Hartselle out of the state tournament last year.

Win or lose, the Lady Tigers are scheduled to play again at 7 p.m.

If they stay in the winner’s bracket, they will face the winner of Hueytown-Moody. If they lose, they will face an elimination game against the loser of Hueytown-Moody.

If the Lady Tigers win at least once today, they will play again on Saturday.
