Funeral for Franklin D. “Frank” Wilborn, 69, of Hartselle will be Friday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Harold Brown and Ben Bates officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Wilborn died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1941, in Morgan County to Toley Dee Wilborn and Wilma Irene Kirby Wilborn. He entered the military in 1961 as part of the Berlin Crisis and was stationed in Germany for most of his tour of duty in the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked as maintenance supervisor for Sivalis Inc. in Odessa, Texas and for Vaughn Gas in sales and services in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents, Toley Dee and Wilma Irene Kirby Wilborn and a son, Chuck Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Wilborn; a daughter, Deeann Verbosh and husband Tom of Hartselle; four sisters, Wilma Richards and husband Larry of Dallas, Penn., Marlene Belcher and husband Dale of Hartselle; Janice Luker and husband Jackie of Cullman and Joyce Atchley and husband Steve of Decatur; three surviving grandchildren, Derrick Wilborn, Stacy Wilborn and Amanda Gordon; two great-grandchildren, Brock and Abby.
Pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Larry Richards, Jeff Belcher, Steve Smith, Sean Lucker and Jason Lucker.
