J.W. Parker

A graveside service for J.W. Parker, 78, of Mount Hope was Sunday, May 1, at 3 p.m. at Forrest Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Wilbanks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Parker died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at his residence on 1900 County Road 460. He was born November 27, 1932, in Morgan County to Grady Forrest Parker and Fannie Lee Owen Parker. He was a cattle farmer and a truck driver for Gordon Transport/Consolidated Freight Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Parker and two brothers, Billy Parker and Edward Parker.
He is survived by two brothers, Owen Parker of Falkville and Jack Parker and wife Christy of Decatur; two sisters, Margaret Wilbanks and husband Billy of Rochester Hills, Michigan and Wanda Grant and husband John of Decatur; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers were Jacob Williamson, Kenley Britnell, Cody McCormick, Jacob Linderman, Jonathan Thrasher and Jim Mack Burchell.
