Remembering my friend, Charlotte Key

Somerville news

I would like to begin by saying it’s been a while since I’ve had anything in my column and I apologize.  Sometimes the world just moves too fast and we have a hard time keeping up.  I have six grandchildren, five of whom are very active in sports.  They keep me pretty busy as all you grandparents know.
I lost a very dear friend last week, Charlotte Key.  She was one of the finest people I have ever been around.  She always had a smile and an uplifting spirit about her.  Always a kind word for everyone she came in contact with.  She worked at the tag office in Cotaco.  She passed away into Heaven rather suddenly.  She will be missed greatly by her family, many friends and co-workers.  My deepest sympathy goes out to her mother, Ruby Fraizer, brothers Keith, Kenneth and Earkly Frazier and Brenda Daugette.
Prayers and heart felt sympathy also goes out to the family and friends of Frances Brown.  Our community lost two fine ladies this week.
Soul Harbor Baptist Church welcomes new pastor, Joey Staton, wife Sherry and son Justen.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Shelby Lawrence and my granddaughter Jeannie Moore, who will be 11 years old on April 21st.
An Easter Egg hunt will be held at Soul Harbor Baptist Church on Somerville Cut Off Road on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon.  Everyone is invited.  A sun rise service will be held at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning followed by a fellowship breakfast, Sunday school at 10:00 and worship service at 11:00.
Prayers and a big hello go out this week to Ruby Frazier, Dorris Powers, Sally and J.D. Williams, and Colleen Moore.
Jacob Daugette preached a revival service last week at the New Beginning Church in Hartselle.
Robert Johnson spent four days at Decatur General last week and is now improving at home.
Vickey, Julie, Louis and Jayla Daugette, Tommy, Jennifer, Hayes, Jeannie, Jacob and Jaden Moore, and Cole Eddy enjoyed spending last week at Joe Wheeler State Park.  They went fishing, hiking and did a lot of grilling out.
I hope everyone who was on spring break last week had a great time.
I would like to encourage everyone to attend church somewhere Sunday in remembrance of the meaning of Easter.
Call me with your news, church announcements, birthdays or social gatherings after 5:00 p.m. at 256-621-0292.  Have a good week!
