Ann Miller is the new manager at Neel Nutrition Center.
I enjoyed talking to Ann recently and she told me she really enjoys her work at the center. The building site for a new facility has been completed and work on its construction is expected to begin soon.
Nutrition center attendees play cards, work puzzles and enjoy a hot meal at noon. Anyone who is 60 or older is invited to participate. The center has 29 members. A bus pickup service is provided and participants enjoy going out to eat once a month. A gospel singing is also featured once a month. The next singing will be on Monday, April 18, at 10 a.m., featuring The Beverly Singers.
Cheerleader tryouts will be conducted at Danville High School Gymnasium on Friday, April 8, after school.
Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Andy LaFavor on April 1, Doris Spinks and Bobby Dobbins, both on April 4, and Gary Long and Rachel Wilhite, both on April 6.
Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Richie Lowe, Brantlee Bibb and Oscar Roden, all on April 9 and Andrea Carter and Crystal Carter, both on April 10.
Belated happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Louis and Betty Depreast who celebrated their 51st anniversary on April 2, Bryce and Jennifer Smith who celebrated their 8th anniversary on April 2, Tran and Melissa Griffin who celebrated their 19th anniversary on April 4 and Riche and Bea Lowe who celebrated their 53rd anniversary on April 5.
The Morgan Baptist Association will host a senior adult lunch Thursday, April 7, at 12 noon. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.
Miss Leslie Reynolds, the bride-elect of Jeremy McAbee will be given a bridal shower at Shady Grove Baptist Church Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m. Gift selections have been made at Target, Wal-Mart and Belk’s.
