County sets cleanup week
If you have junk cluttering up your back yard or a bunch of unwanted household items taking up space in a garage or outbuilding, now’s the time get rid if it free of charge.
The opportunity will come during Morgan County’s annual Spring Cleanup March 28 through April 2, a joint effort involving the Morgan County Commission and its four district shops, Morgan County Adopt-A-Mile and Hart-selle’s Public Works Department.
Morgan County residents are invited to use the Decatur-Morgan County landfill at Trinity to dispose of junk items at no charge from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. They may also dispose of unwanted items by taking them to district shops 1-4 at the times listed below.
Hartselle’s Public Works Department is waiving a $10 pickup fee on discarded household appliances, furniture and other junk items throughout the week. For pickup, junk should be placed next to the street away from guide wires or any other stationary obstacles.
Below is a listing of district shops, their location and hours of operation during Spring Cleanup Week:
