Two dead in apparent murder-suicide

Two Hartselle men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide Saturday morning just outside Hartselle city limits.off of Perry Anders Road, according to authorities.

Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn said that Charles Anders, 64, of 29 Perry Anders Road and Kenneth Anders, 61, of 3494 Barkley Bridge Road were both killed around 10:38 a.m.

Chunn said Charles Anders, who was found dead outside of his home, received multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

Kenneth Anders was found dead inside of a barn at the end of Perry Anders Road with a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound.

“It’s still under investigation at this time,” Chunn said. “The bodies have been sent to Huntsville forensics for an autopsy.”

Chunn said the two men were distant cousins.

“The two apparently had some kind of an argument,” Chunn said. “We’re not sure what it was about at this time, but investigators are still interviewing witnesses.”

No one else was injured in the incident. The two men were pronounced dead between 1-1:15 p.m.
