Danville-Neel science fair winners announced

Danville-Neel Elemen-tary School has announced its science fair winners as follows:
Kindergarten—Madelynn Hanback, first; Kyle Grissom, second; Tytan Vest and Cherokee Grimes, third; and Heidi Beltran, honorable mention.
First grade—Carson Crowe, first; Rachel Ann Puckett and Makayla Slate, second; Lydia Williams and Matthew Floerkey, third; and Elizabeth Clark, Jasmine Ferrell, Taylor Cummings, Gavin Shelton and Zander Robinson, honorable mention.
Second grade—Gabi Vest, first; Samuel Weatherwax and Casey Carter, second; Jada Henderson, and Kaleb Melson, third; and A. J. Willingham, Dalton Chalus, Charlie Weaver, Will Blackwood and Clayton Brown, honorable mention.
Third grade—Alyssa Smith, first; Ashley Wright and Emma Broadfoot, second; Melissa Legg and Victoria McNutt, third; and Mallory Garrett, Caley Tate, Wren Cole, Molly Turney and Mallory Hampton, honorable mention.
Fourth grade—Jaila Crowe, first; Clay Johnson and Jaye Henderson, second; Nora Smith and Brock Burrow, third; and Shane Wallace, Brooke Harbin, Ben Mause, Hunter Jelinek and Colby Gray, honorable mention. Congratulations to each winner for a job well done.
Punkin Center Volunteer Fire Department responded to four fire and medical calls during the month of February. Grass fires occurred on Liberty, Targum and Stephenson roads.
A Massey community gathering will be held at Sweet Annie’s of Massey Town on Monday, Mar. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. Special entertainment will be provided.
Happy birthday wishes go out to a special friend, Junior Taylor. He celebrated his 18th birthday on Feb. 29.
Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Brittany Parker on Feb. 29.
Christian love and heartfelt prayers go out this week to the following troops and their families: Brandon Jones, Aaron Money, Derek Jones, Dusty Smith and John Hull, all in Afghanistan; John Black, Lance  Brown, Anthony Thomas, Matthew Young, Lee Thompson and Brad Wallace, all in Iraq; Jack C. Herbert and Wes Parker, both in Georgia; Jeffrey Green, Ft. Benning; Robert Green, USS Mason; and Josh Fagan, Alaska; and Jeremy White, Virginia. God bless all of our troops and their loved ones.
Special congratulations go out this week to the Danville Lady Hawks volleyball players  who were named to the 2010 Class 3A All-State Volleyball Team. The award winners are Lacey Evans and Ashley Nance, second team; and Morgan Doherty and Sydni Shelton, honorable mention. Evans was named to the first team in 2009.
Special belated happy birthday wishes go out to Tyler, Tara, Le’Tia and Travis.
