Winter storm warning issued

The National Weather Service has placed Morgan County in a winter storm warning beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday and ending Thursday at 9 a.m.

As much as 2 inches of snow is expected to fall across the area during the storm.

Snow is expected to start in the western Tennessee Valley area by early afternoon and spread into Morgan County by the early evening hours. Accumulations are expected on roadways causing potentially hazardous driving conditions on bridges and overpasses first and then on secondary roads.

School has not yet been affected by the threat of winter weather as of early Wednesday morning.
