Whitlow, Allen to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Halbrooks of Hartselle and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Whitlow Jr. of LaVergne, Tenn. announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Caroline Whitlow of Hartselle to Gabriel Daimwood Allen of Columbia, Tenn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Allen of Columbia, Tenn.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Winford Logan and Mrs. Carolyn Logan of Decatur, the late Mrs. Bobbie Whitlow and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Whitlow, Sr. of Gastonia, N.C., the late Mr. Darris Halbrooks and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Plemons of Hartselle.
A 2004 graduate of A.P. Brewer High School, she attended the University of North Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama in 2010 with a B.A. in communicative disorders and a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology.
She is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is employed by EBS Healthcare in Nashville, Tenn.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walker of Eufaula, Mr. William Carter and the late Mrs. Willadene Carter of Columbia, Tenn. and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Allen of Columbia, Tenn.
A 2004 graduate of Columbia Central High School, he attended the University of North Alabama and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
He manages Hewgley’s Music Shop in Columbia, Tenn.
The wedding is planned for March 12, 2011, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Somerville.
