Herbert Harold Davis

Funeral for Herbert Harold Davis, 72, of Speake will be Thursday (today), Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Lawrence County with the Revs. Jeff Sherrill and Greg Standridge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Davis died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 8, 1938, in Winston County to Bert Davis and Lilly Bell Lindley Davis. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Whitten Davis of Speake; three sons, Jimmy Davis of Decatur, Joe Davis of Kingston, Ga. and Dewayne Davis of Jasper; a daughter, Jennifer Davis Hopper of Speake; two brothers, Bert Davis of Florida and Clyde Davis of Hartselle; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Davis, Larry Evans, Phillip Humphries, Mike Hulsey, Randall Hightower, Greg Hopper, Chad Terry and Kevin Stanford.
