Carlis ‘Carl’ Brown

Funeral for Carlis “Carl” Brown, 62, of Somerville, was Wed., Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Baptist Church with the Revs. Ron Manly and Scott Harris officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial with full military honors was in Valhermoso Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Brown died Sun., Oct. 24, 2010, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1948, in Morgan County to Willie Brown and Lois Edwards Brown. He was a driver for White Oak Transport and a very active member of Valhermoso Baptist Church serving in numerous capacities. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allie.
He is survived by his wife, Marcie Brown of Somerville; two sons, Jamie Guerrero of Indiana and William Freeman of Huntsville; four daughters, Angie Freeman of Lacey’s Spring, Candi Brown and Carlene Cryer, both of Somerville and Karen Lee of Mississippi; a sister, Sue Wood of Somerville; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Carl Sadler, Nathan Roden, Tommy Hardin, Eugene Malone, Cecil Taylor, Pat Matkin, Roger Campbell and Jim Wood.
