Local runners strong at ABS meet

Hartselle’s Anna Craig, Ivy Buchanan and Joy Harris finished in the top 30 last week at the Athens Bible School’s to lead to the Lady Tigers to a third-place finish at the Athens Sportsplex.
Hartselle’s boys finished sixth overall among large schools behind a strong outing by Jonathan Duncan.
Craig finished 13th overall to pace the Lady Tigers in the meet. She finished the 5K course with a time of 23:17.50.
Buchanan’s time of 24:48.60 was good for 24th overall, while Harris ran a 24:57.00 and finished 27th.
Cheyenne Sanchez (26:02.50), Lindsey Elmore (26:30.70), Amanda Hampton (27:05.60) and Erin Brown (28:10.30) rounded out the Lady Tigers’ group.
Priceville’s girls finished 10th overall with 272 points.
Paige Terry finished 45th for the Lady Bulldogs after running a 27:22.50.
Alisha Burchell (29:21.30), Toni Jo Gautney (32:46.80), Lauren Clem (32:55.20) and Alice Gibson (33:24.90) all scored for Priceville.
Duncan was second overall with a time of 17:44.10 to help Hartselle finish sixth in the boys’ large school race.
Noah Battles gave the Tigers two finishers in the top 10 places. His time of 18:23.30 was good for eighth place.
Alex Wilt (20:02.30), Cameron Cunningham (20:40.30), Tristen Mitchell (21:21.80) and Chad Wallwork (22:30.30) completed Hartselle’s lineup in the large school race.
Priceville’s boys finished eighth overall in the large school division with Tim Rayman leading the way with a 17th place finish at 18:54.10.
T.J. Johnson (19:06.20) and Jared Gunn (19:33.80) finished 22nd and 32nd overall respectively.
Spencer Johnson (23:02.40), Justin Dozier (23:31.90) and Jackson Morris (23:39.90) rounded out the Bulldogs’ lineup.
