A graveside service for Elizabeth Groover Newton, 83, of Hartselle was Fri., Oct. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with the Revs. Robert Sparkman and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Newton died Wed., Oct. 20, 2010, at her residence. She was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Cleburne County to William Lee Groover and Ruth Albert Chambers Groover.
She is survived by two sons, John Edward Newton and wife Sam of Dothan and Robert Creel Newton and wife Leticia of Douglasville, Ga.; a daughter, Virginia Lee Newton Carden of Hartselle; six grandchildren, David Wesley Sandefer and wife Haley, Justin Creel Newton, Kelly Robert Sandefer, Meghan Kirt Newton, Katherine Elizabeth Newton and Marissa Lee Carden; and two great-grandchildren, Sydney Madison Sandefer and Wesley Blake Sandefer.
