Cake auction raises money for shoebox work

Neel Nutrition Center will host a Bake Sale as a fundraising project on Tuesday, Nov. 2, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and lasting until everything is sold. Free coffee will be served. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
The youth of Shady Grove Baptist Church enjoyed attending the Youth Quake in Cullman on Sat., Oct. 16.  Those attending were Lee, Beth and Breanna Gray, Perry, Tina and Ryan Jones, Lori Chance, Summer McGuire, Trish O’Kelley, Andrea and Crystal Carter, Shane Parker, Willie, Charlice and Andy LaFavor, Lynn and Holly Addison, Josh Chappell, Tyler McAbee, Rachel and Andrew Terry and Sydney Alred.
Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Charles Long and Eddie Dotson, both on Oct. 18, Danny Alred on Oct. 20, James Bibb and Beth McCaghren, both on Oct. 21, Hailey Nichols on Oct. 23, Janet Reynolds and Bea Lowe, both on Oct. 25 and Ken Callahan on Oct. 26.

Wonderful belated happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Dale and Shirley Bibb who observed their 43rd anniversary on Oct. 21, Ken and Sherri Clark who observed their 15th anniversary on Oct. 20 and Dwayne and Joyce Moore who observed their 23rd anniversary on Oct. 24.
Shady Grove Baptist Church youth are selling “Spook Insurance.”  In the event your house gets rolled with paper on Halloween, they will clean it up for you. The proceeds will help pay for an upcoming youth conference.
Shady Grove Baptist Church has started a new class for younger youth in fifth through eighth grade. The first class was held on Oct. 17. Those enjoying pancakes and sausage and playing games were Sarah Logan, William Logan, Jackson Locklear, Colton Spinks, Shay Yoakum. Parker Yoakum, Christina Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Taylor Gray, Carson Owens and J.D. Oaks. The class meets at 5 p.m. each Sunday and its name is T& T.
A cake auction at Shady Grove Baptist Church raised $200 for Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts recently. Some of the items still needed for the shoebox gift project are hand soap, socks, hard candy and other small items that can be used by a child. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
On Sunday evening, Oct. 10, the youth of Shady Grove Baptist Church enjoyed a special night to celebrate an upcoming day off from school.  They participated in an X-box tournament and a Wii dance. Winner in the Xbox tourney was the team of Matthew Terry and Justin Turrentine and the winner of the Wii dance was Jeanna Locklear, with David Vest coming in second. The youth who participated were Nik Newell, Sydney Alred, Tyler McAbee, Keri Callahan, Rachel Terry, Morgan Doherty, Jenna Locklear, Shay Terry, Jada Callahan, Patrick Doherty, Matthew Terry, Hunter LaRoche, Jared Callahan, Justin Turrentine, Davey Vest, Shane Parker, Lukus Puckett, Dylan Newell, Andrew Terry, Spencer Phillips, T.J. Braswell, Andy LaFavor, Jacob Fields and Dylan Woods.
