Hugh Blyth Halbrooks

Funeral for Hugh Blyth Halbrooks, 78, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), October 7, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Halbrooks died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Crestwood medical Center. He was born June 19, 1932, in Morgan County to James Ad Halbrooks and Bertha May Blankenship Halbrooks. He was a member of First Baptist Church Hartselle and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale Halbrooks; and two brothers, Harris and Darris Halbrooks.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Slate Halbrooks of Hartselle; two sons, Dennis Halbrooks and wife Rebecca of Decatur and children Eric and J.D. and a granddaughter, Anya and Darwin Halbrooks and wife Catherine of Hartselle and their daughter Nina; two daughters, Belinda McClure and husband jerry of Hartselle and their children, Anthony, Toni and Jeremy and their grandchildren, Kory, William, Novella and Gwen and Cindy Roberts and husband Brian of Huntsville and their children, Nathan, Elizabeth, Ella and Anna.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Hartselle ACS Relay for Life to team team leader, Nina Halbrooks at 710 Main Street East Hartselle, AL 35640.
