Hartselle adds to list of area victims with rout of Cullman

Hartselle remained perfect in area play after beating Cullman Thursday afternoon at home.
Chelsea Bennich, the team’s only senior playing in her last regular season home game, had 25 digs, four aces and a kill as the Lady Tigers beat Cullman 25-15, 25-15, 25-12.
Addison beat Hartselle 25-23, 25-19 in the other match.
Olivia Golden added 18 digs and 18 kills for the Lady Tigers. She also had two aces and two blocks.
Savanne Howard led Hartselle with 24 aces, while Elizabeth Russell added 23.
Kelsey Bonner finished with 18 digs and two aces, while Katelyn Hill had 11 kills, three blocks and three aces. Kaylee Shelton and Katie Clark finished with nine kills each.
Taylor Lybarger had six digs and three kills. Haley Jared had five kills and four blocks.
Danville goes 1-1
Danville beat Florence 25-16, 25-16, but dropped a 25-20, 25-17 decision to Bob Jones.
Lindsay Simmons had 18 kills, three blocks and four aces to lead the Lady Hawks. Ashley Nance added 11 kills.
Sydni Shelton had a team-high four blocks for Danville.
Kaitlin Wallace had 30 assists, while Lacey Evans and Jada Callahan had 12 and 10 digs respectively.
Hartselle wins pair
Hartselle beat Brewer 25-19, 25-22, 25-17 in an area contest and added a 25-16, 25-18 victory over Decatur Tuesday to improve to 28-13.
Olivia Golden had team-highs in kills with 17 and added 16 digs.
Savanne Howard and Elizabeth Russell finished with 27 and 16 assists respectively.
Katelynn Hill and Katie Clark added nine kills each.
Chelsea Bennich had 22 digs, while Kelsey Bonner added 19. Russell and Bonner had four aces each, while Clark finished with five blocks.
Danville sweeps
Danville picked up a pair of wins in a tri-match at Good Hope last Tuesday.
The Lady Hawks beat Holly Pond 25-22, 25-19 and Good Hope in a marathon match 25-14, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 18-16.
Lindsay Simmons and Ashley Nance led Danville with 31 and 30 kills respectively.
Nance also had a team-high nine blocks.
Kaitlin Wallace finished with 68 assists, while Jada Callahan and Morgan Doherty finished with eight and five aces respectively.
Lacey Evans had a team-high 16 digs and Sydni Shelton added six blocks for the Lady Hawks.
Lady Hawks win two
Danville beat Addison, the top-ranked team in Class 1A, 14-25, 25-23, 27-25 and Catholic 25-23, 25-15, 23-25, 21-25, 15-11 last Thursday.
Kaitlin Wallace had 71 assists and five blocks in the win for Danville.
Ashley Nance finished with 38 kills for the Lady Hawks. Lindsay Simmons added 26 kills.
Jada Callahan had a team-high eight aces, while Lacey Evans and Morgan Doherty finished with 23 and 11 digs respectively.
Sydni Shelton had eight blocks.
