Falkville plans annual festival

Sea Shell Hors D’oeuvres
1 cup shredded carrot
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 t. celery salt
1 cup finely chopped fresh broccoli
24 large seashell macaroni
Bring cheeses to room temperature. Blend cheeses and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the carrots and broccoli and blend thoroughly. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for two hours. Cook seashell macaroni for 12 minutes. Drain and cool. Stuff each shell with mixture and cover with plastic wrap until ready to serve. I won “Best Cook” in Morgan County for this recipe. I hope you will like this recipe. It is very good to serve at a party.
Open house will be held at the Falkville Public Library Oc. 5 from 2:30 until 5:30. There will be a book signing by two local authors. Form more information, call 256-784-5822.
The annual Falkville Festival will be held Oct. 30 with a pancake breakfast starting at 7 a.m. at the fire station. Other events will include car show, trator show, BBQ cookoff, activities for children, food vendors, arts and craft show, other vendors, bingo, cake auction and Shenandoah. For more information, contact Chief Chris Free at 256-784-5922.
