Hartselle swimmers claim meet title

HUNTSVILLE – Hartselle’s Swim team won its second NAHSSL meet of the year at Alabama A&M Saturday.
The Tigers defeated Hazel Green, Lee, Madison County, and Catholic in the meet after finishing with a team score of 69 points.
Catholic was second with 59 points.
Top finishers for the girls were Jordan Bruner, who won the 100 IM and the 50 Fly, and Tiffany Pittman, who won the 100 free and the 50 breast.
Jess Horton finished first in the 50 free and was second in the 50 back.
Alexandra Williams finished second in the 200 free.
The girls’ relay team, made up of Bruner, Pittman, Horton and Sarah Roark also finished first in both the medley and free relays.
The top finisher for the boys was Alec Holloway with second-place finishes in the 100 free and 50 free.
Holloway also had a third place finish in the 50 back.
Michael Powell finished second in the 200 free and second in the 50 Breast.
Nathan Roark placed third in the 100 IM.
The Hartselle boys’ relay team of Holloway, Powell, Roark and Trey Fanning finished second in both the medley and free relays.
Hartselle will compete again on October 18 at Dublin Park in Madison.
