FLORETTE – Casey Vest returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown but it wasn’t enough to top Mortimer Jordan Friday night at Brewer.
Mortimer Jordan held off Brewer 34-27 in a Class 5A, Region 6 game at James Tucker Stadium.
Matt Mann scored on a 3-yard run for Brewer’s opening touchdown in the game. He also later threw a 67-yard touchdown pass to Vest.
Taylor Bowling picked up a score for Brewer when he returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown.
Brewer will return to action Friday when the Patriots host Columbia.
