Funeral for Nell Dutton Turney, 89, of Falkville was Mon., Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at Gandy’s Cove United Methoidst Church with the Revs. Harold Thompson and John Russell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Cook Cemetery.
Mrs. Turney died Fri., Sept. 3, 2010, at her residence. She was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Morgan County to David and Emma Lawrence Dutton. She was a homemaker and a member of Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church and UMW. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James C. Turney and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Don Turney and wife Linda of Falkville; two daughters, Jean Alford and husband Julian of Fultondale and Ginger Hume and husband David of Falkville; grandchildren, Rene’ Patterson and husband Mark of Lawrenceville, Ga., Randy Alford and wife Susan of Mt. Olive, Jeff Turney of Madison, Chris Turney of Eva, Mark Hume of Birmigham and Brian Hume of Tuscaloosa; great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Nicole Patterson of Lawrenceville, Ga., Seth and Alex Alford of Mt. Olive, Benjamin and Lucas Turney of Eva and Jordan Turney of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Randy Alford, Jeff Turney, Chris Turney, Mark Hume, Brian Hume and Mark Patterson.
Memorials may be made to Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church UMW or to Hospice of the Valley.
