Shady Grove Baptist planning church-wide celebration Sept. 11

Special congratulations go out this week to my friends, Dale and Betty Boyd, who celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Sept. 4. To celebrate, they ate out at Top of the River Restaurant in Guntersville.  They also attended a fundraiser for 23-year-old Kirby Hines who faces a long recovery after having a brain tumor removed. May God bless you Kirby during your recovery and may it be a speedy one.
Celebration XIX will be celebrated at Shady Grove Baptist Church on Saturday Sept. 11. Festivities will begin with a pancake breakfast at 6:30 a.m. in the church fellowship hall followed by a tractor and car show at 7 a.m. and the opening of a children’s play area at 10 a.m.  There will also be a free hot dog lunch.
Other activities will include a Morgan County Cattlemen’s Association steak sandwich sale, and special music by The Kellys, New Ground and Seven Daze Ministries. There will also be a home cooking contest, Best Jam, Jelly, Pickle and Apple Pie Contests and arts and crafts vendors. Also available will be cotton candy, snow cones and soft drinks. A barbecue chicken supper will also be held and a fireworks show will cap the evening at 9 p.m.
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a wonderful family day of fun.
Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to Kim Roberts, Sydney Alred, Valerie Byrd and Blake Wilhite, all on Sept. 1, Betty Depreast on Sept. 3,Beth Gray and Braden Foy, both on Sept., 3, Lynne Smith and Dana Adams, both on Sept, 4, Ruby Lacy and Noah Kitchens, both on Sept. 7.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Reagan Crumley on Sept. 9.
Wonderful belated happy anniversary wishes go out to Michael and Ginger Cataline. who celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 4, and Keith and Kim Roberts who celebrated their 30th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 5.
Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Willie and Charlice LaFavor. They will celebrate their 18th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 12.
Shady Grove Baptist Church’s Children’s Ministry will present a program entitled: Knight Camp at Rock Kingdom” on Sunday, Sept.12 at 10:45 a.m.
Special congratulations go out this week to Walden Chapel Pastor and wife, John and Terri Bain on the birth of their first grandchild, Addison Elizabeth Buel.
Her proud parents are Charise and Brian Buel of Decatur.
We are very happy to announce that Bro. Bain brought his mom home form UAB hospital where she had a successful operation to repair her lung diaphragm.
